REAL or FAKE?
Have you noticed that technology has gotten so good that sometimes you do not what to believe? For instance, photo-shopping, it is done so much now that when we see a celebrity on the cover of a magazine we know that most likely the picture has been photo-shopped. However, it is difficult for us to truly know whether they have been or not because there are celebrities that do not let the magazine do it.
I had to look at three different things such as, an image, reviews, and quotes and I have to determine whether they were real or fake.

My Guesses:
In my opinion, image one is a fake. It took me a while to decide because I did not how I could determine whether this image was real or not. At first, I even thought, maybe it is not real because there are very old buildings mixed in with new buildings. Then I second guessed myself because that reason did not sound good enough. However, after analyzing the picture very carefully, I realized there was a pointer/cursor on the image. Those used to crop or fix something. Therefore, this image must be FAKE. The reviews seemed real to me. They sounded like a review I would leave. I did not know how to figure out whether they were real or not. The quotes, some of them were real and others fake. For instance, 1 and 3, I believe are real quotes because when I googled them Jefferson’s name would come up. On the other hand, when I googled quote 2 all that would come up was the same website about identifying whether the quote was real or not. This lead me to believe that quote 2 must be FAKE as well.

2. The Reviews:
Review 1: Stayed here for two nights with my wife and golden retriever in a pet friendly room. All staff in the hotel are super friendly and helpful. Can't beat the location. Visiting our son at Dalhousie. We are traveling from Maine and have greatly enjoyed Halifax. If you are into jogging, you can leave hotel and make loop in the point.
Review 2: We only stayed for one night but I would have happily stayed here longer. The hotel is beautiful throughout. We upgraded our room for a good price and had a really nice king bed which was really comfy. We ordered room service too for breakfast and were very impressed how quickly the food came
3. The Quotes:
Quote 1: “Do you want to know who you are? Don't ask. Act! Action will delineate and define you."
Quote 2: “That the obliquity of the ecliptic, when these elephants lived, was so great as to include with the tropics all those reasons in which the bones are found."
Quote 3: “Gun control works great for the people who are law-abiding citizens and it does nothing for the criminals, and all it does is put the people at risk.”

My Thoughts:
At first I did not have a clue how I was going to be able to figure out whether the image, reviews, and quotes were real or not. Even though I got some of them wrong, I had the right idea on how to find out if it was real or fake. I was very impressed that I got the answer to the image right. I have no idea how I saw the cursor at the last minute but I am glad I did. The only reason I had for thinking that the reviews were real was because they sounded like something I was say on a review. I was surprised when I noticed that I had gotten the answer to the quotes incorrect. Since I goggled them and saw Jefferson's name somewhere, I was so sure they were real quotes. What I missed to do was clicking on those links that said Jefferson's name to double check if those links were real, fake, or even relevant to the topic. Some strategies I learned from the website with the answers and tips was that there are other websites that can tell you whether the content is real or fake. I would like to teach my future students about those websites. I would also like to teach them that just because it is on google does it mean it is real. They should investigate a little further to make sure the material is in fact real.
I hope you guys have enjoyed reading my blog on whether things on the internet are real or fake. Thank you all so much!!
